Mrs Rhian Andrew

Headteacher

Mrs Rhian Andrew

It might sound intimidating, but in truth, Mrs Andrew likes nothing more than a really good chat, greeting parents and pupils at the school gate.

Mrs Andrew has served the Barry area throughout her teaching career, becoming headteacher at Ysgol Sant Baruc in 2010.

She was previously deputy head of Ysgol Gymraeg Sant Curig, having been promoted during her tenure there.

In 2018, Mrs Andrew became an Estyn inspector and, at the time of writing, leads a training module for Senior Leaders in Education.

Mrs Andrew represents Welsh medium primary schools on the Vale Headteachers steering group, working to enhance the success of Welsh medium education across the county.

She loves her job, and feels privileged to lead a dedicated team of staff in a welcoming, friendly school community.
